I was born in Northern Ireland, a child of the Troubles but hidden away in the middle of the countryside able to watch Belfast burning from the top of our coal bunker. It was later as a doctor working in Belfast and in Derry that I experienced the cold, brutal, blood-stained violence of terrorism. Music, writing, the commitments in my life and love arose from those combined experiences.
I am a paediatric neurologist. I do medico legal work.
I present nationally and internationally on how the brain learns.
Central to my life is my desire to create through music, writing, photography and with the simple acts that create a life.
